An average community bank consists of 15 - 20 entrepreneurs who are collectively responsible for each other's loans. These entrepreneurs receive initial loans of about $115, as well as the assistance of ASEI's microenterprise specialists in credit management, accounting, and business administration. ASEI also provides loans and technical assistance on an individual basis to clients with more established businesses and credit history.
